I liked my '00 CR250. I had no complaints in the handling and ridgidty (is that a word?). I HATED the my '97 CR when I had it. I didn't really notice much of a difference in handling and feel between my '00 and '02 CR's. Both good. I'm not super sensetive to small changes though.
Too much of a puss for a 500!

Wait for the gen 3. Mostly cause parts cover 02-07.

You may have more turning issues than a steely but since you don't ride tracks and everyone is different, turning could be a none issue for you.

Can someone tell me the difference between the gen1 gen2 etc? i have a 2002 cr that i want to transplant into a 2002 or newer cr250 chassis and seeing things about the different af generations has me wondering if shanmans conversion kit will work for the newer alloy chassis.

the guy who is making the parts for me looked at me all worried when i told him what i wanted to do but seemed a lot happier when i gave him shanmans drawings. so a big thank you to shanman for posting them.
