A Thanksgiving Request
A Thanksgiving Request
Eric and I have a friend named Kevin.... and he has a really nice wife named Cathy....
Cathy took a little spill out at Ocitillo today.... tore off her pinky ( ) and broke 5 ribs from what I understand....
Do two things for me...
1. Wish Cathy a quick recovery in this thread.... she's in the hosipital for a least 3 weeks
2. Think about all the close calls you've had, and give thanks today that most of us have avoided things like this for the most part.
Get Well Soon Cathy!!! From all your friends at Banned!!!!!

Thanks guys I'll Pass on the link.
I got the call Wednesday evening That this happened. Cathy was already at the the hospital in Brawley or some other God forsaken place like that.
But they needed to to transport her to a trauma center so they were trying to get her into Palm Springs but it was to full.
So Loma Linda is the place that they transported her to. I would say a 40 minute drive on your back, five broken ribs on a fucked up freeway to boot.
They had her all doped up on Dilaudid my favorite drug of choice. If I could buy this stuff I would be hanging out at the drug store right now picking some up. Anyway back to the point.
She was transported that night and had to go through all those painful X-rays and ct scans and all that crap. Kevin said she was a champ through the whole thing.
I drove out to Ocotillo Wells Thanksgiving morning leaving my house at 5:00am arriving at 7:30 am Joe had everything loaded and ready to go so I hooked up and started to talk with the people that were there and next thing you know Debbie (Joe's girlfriend) comes out of the motor home with a breakfast burrito. Thanks for that it was just what I needed.
I got home and back to my family right at 2:00 pm right at the time I was told I needed to be there. I just took the long way.
I Hauled their trailer back to the house and dropped it off. Kevin was just getting up to go back to the hospital. It appears that this was just a freak accident. She was on a sandy road with some whoops, something happened and she went over the high side and here we are.
We have all crashed harder around the campfire without injury and crap like this just happens.
I'm sure she will recover quick and be back out riding / camping with us in no time.
Get well soon and everybody is thinking of you and wishing you and Kevin the best. Even as this thread drift happens the really are good people.

Thanks for all your well wishes. After 10 days in the hospital, I'm glad to be at home!!! The support of my friends and family, and all of you that don't even know me, has been overwhelming. Even though this accident has left me scarred, it hasn't dampened my riding enthusiasm.
Thanks again for your support and a special Thanks to Bob and Eric for creating this blog on my behalf.

Wow Sorry to hear!
Get Well Soon Cathy!!! From all your friends at Banned!!!!![/quote]
I didn't say anything then. I guy I race with Ron Lingo #111 had a bad get off at Comp Edge the weekend before TG. Somehow slamed the face of the finish line jump, maybe the wind got him I dunno for sure. The damage report; 9 broken ribs on the back side, 5 more on the front, a calapsed lung, jacked up right hand and had to amp the pinky finger. Life Flighted out to Loma Linda. That one really sucked to hear. Had I'd a raced that one, there is a very good chance I would of been behind him and seen most of it. But still.
Sorry to hear of yours.
