I got to ride with Travis Pastrana!
okay, so the weekend started out with us going to my favorite riding location, Ogemaw Sport and Trail center.
roll in friday night, and apparently he is in town, but i am skeptical, and was suppsed to show up and ride saturday.
well, sunday morning rolls around and were eating breakfast when a group of about 30 guys roll in from the trail, everything from Pastrana and his dad, to Hubert Rowland and a few other big names, to just guys that joined up on the state trails.
So i gear up and get out to the track, and start tearin it up with the man himself, and holy crap hes fast lol.
after that, we went and hit the trails and hit some hillclimbs, he signed my helmet, got some pictures with him and the rest of my group, and that was a day.
He is a really cool guy, down to earth, hes just another guy that loves the sport, and it was great because there was no press, and nobody was crowding him and shit. Just kinda hangin out, ridin and bullshittin. It was Epic. heres a few pics! im in the white/black gear, and the other guy is my cousin.
It was especially great becuase of all the guys that was with him, only 7 guys ran the "impossible" hillclimb, 3 of em made it, and i was one of the guys that ran the hill, and I tried it twice, and Travis was giving me a few tips on what to do to run at the hill. It was a frickin dream come true, meeting and getting to ride with him.

I got to ride with him, well, on the same track as him, after he won his first Daytona 125 SX. He showed up the following Wednesday at PaxTrax in Bunnell, FL. I think it was 2000 or 2001.
Met him, shook his hand, got his autograph but, shit, it was nothing as personal as your experience. I'm so freakin' jealous!!!!

well, gotta remember, when it blows up, he gets a new one. money is no object when it comes to bikes, an i must say, every newer zuki ive rode handles GOOD.
The Crown kid was there as well, hes got to be 12, riding a RM80. he was hauling ASS, clearing every jump there, 80 foot tables and all, and he was right next to Pastrana the whole time, about 10 laps solid. it was insane to watch.
haha, he took a 500AF for a spin, and he overshot the front tabletop, and he came back and gave it back to the owner lol. he was ridin the hell out of it though, he used the motor pretty well, kept her opened up for sure.
he was woods riding/hillclimbing that Cernics bike with the nitro circus graphics, it was a RM250.
it was a total fluke, he just kind of showed up to the riding campground we were at. Talk about the right place at the right time!

KTM 250's also didnt go to the aluminum frame. and their 250 is the lightest out of all the 250's from what i have heard. too lazy to look up specs right nowkdizzle wrote:Crazy how the RM 2 smokes still sport the steel frame. I have ridden an 08 and thought it handles nice. but why does suzuki not upgrade to the AL chassis?
