I am assuming you are putting a CR500 engine in these frames.
For the 04 CRF250, swingarm spacers are as follows. ( OEM Honda part #s )
Right side 52141-KZ4-J40 Bushing ( 59mm long )
Left side 52142-KZ4-J40 bushing ( 54mm long )
Check what length bushings are in the swingarm now, one might be the right length already.
You can thank Bob for this information.
As for the spacers on the 98 CR250, you will need a 4mm spacer on one side and a 6mm spacer on the other. CHECK with Danny on this one.

yup, and for the gen-4 you only need to buy the 59mm and move the 54mm to the other side.
for the gen-1 use the stock chassis airboot and give it a little heat.
on the gen-4, assuming its an R not an X, I found the gen-1 boots to fit well, specifically a '98-99 cr125 (its a tighter fit on the carb, but fits the chassis and lines up perfectly) or a gen-1 250 boot, '97-'99.
I built 2 '04 crf250r conversions and each I tried a number of boots and used one of each that I listed, the 125 was a cleaner fit. the cr500 boot is too short for the R chassis, but works well for the X chassis.

was that an R or X, the airboxes are different. when I tried a '00 cr500 boot on the crf250r, there was like an inch gap. ofcoarse I also clocked the motors as far forward as possible.
