thats why women never drive my truck. too bad you arent out here, our shop does extremely fair prices for repair body work. and you wont find better body work anywhere in the country either.

the last show truck we built, won top 10 at the columbus goodguys car show, has been in 3 national magazines on the same paint/body. The 2 I know of for sure, you can see it on pages 40-44 of Truck Builder April 2005, and page 176-180 of Street Rodder June 2008.

the car before that took top 10 at columbus, and top 10 coast to coast and has been in a few magazines as well, but this car was completed before I was old enough to fart, so I am unsure of the magazines it was pictured in.

If I were you...I would guilt trip the hell out of her. Thats about $3k to fix at most bodyshops. Its a Harley edition to boot...It was a nice truck, just add some bondo and never finish fixing it...then you will fit right in with all the others.

3k would be a ripoff for sure. that can be straightened with a hammer+dolley, skim coat of bondo, blocked out and painted. no parts required. 1500 would be pushing it for that repair...

I don't know...I had the same thing happen to me when I fell asleep at the wheel and side-swipped a green post / mile marker with my 2001 Ranger. I think $1500 would be a half-assed Maaco job.

Go get some estimates Brit, lets see who is closer on the $$$

I know for a fact our shop would fix that in a heartbeat for 1500 bucks. in and out in a day, and you'd never know it was ever touched. There would be MAYBE 500 in material in Brit's job, equaling out to my dad makes a grand in 5-6 hours. Like I said, repair body work is cheap in our shop, and in these times, it is whats keeping us busy, while other local shops are DEAD.

I know what a "normal" shop would charge, but we dont have employees to do work. My dad is the only guy that really touches the work, i help out on the side between school and other work. It really helps when you dont have a lot of overhead and know people to have access to paint booth for the cost of running it.....

wow thats stupid as hell. you could have a graphics shop make you some for much cheaper....

didnt really pay attention, but yeah, the damage does almost come up to that stripe.

add in the cost of the stripe to my original estimate.
