wicked!
but, I have to ask... doesn't boost just blow through the exhaust on a 2stroke? isn't that why detroit 2 stroke turbo diesels had an exhaust valve, to hold boost?
what kind of turbo was uses? a mitsu td03, a garrett t2?
how are you fueling it? blow through, carb before turbo? how did you get around all the metering issues with boost blowing through the exhaust and the "pipe" effect?

Trust me. it's not a question of, if the turbo works. It's night and day difference. If I had to guess; I would say that it's making 60-80% more power. And my bike was aleady running 7.30@90mph in the 1/8th before the turbo.dannygraves wrote:wicked!

I'm blowing through a 39pwk. Forget about the expansion chamber. That's the easy part. It's gonna do it's own thing. You just need to figure a way to keep the pipe from blowing off, a killer set of clutches, a right crank seal retainer, a big fuel supply, a big set of balls and alot of patience.

The turbo is a Garret GT15. I'm using a dedicated oil system for the turbo. Basically, a small tank, electric pump, regulator and feed/return lines. It's simple.dannygraves wrote:what kind of turbo? how are you feeding oil to the turbo and how are you cooling the turbo?
Here's a link with some pics.

thought about that, but would rather not hack up the new bike. although being FI and a 4stroke would make it a lot easier... the gen-1 is already useless for anything other than shooting a hill, so I wouldn't be losing anything by mounting one of my 9Bs on it.

You can't determine if a turbo fits your app just by the compressor side. A compressor map is good for determining the hp that you desire; but I would suggest studying the turbine side. That is very important. The turbine side must be sized to your motor. Too small: it will choke the motor and not rev...and too big: it will not spool.
