riding it like you did in that vid, quite a while. it wasnt bouncing off the rev limiter the entire ride. hopefully it doesnt give you problems, but thats usually not the case with these things.

you know, I speculate that it will last longer than most thumpers only because it has such good power down low that you can short shift it like a 500, and that is how I have been riding it. If I don't have to hit 12,000 rpm to get moving, I won't, and thus I won't be killing it with rpms.

you will be fine danny.. ride it and service it just like any other bike and you will be good. My 426 was bomb proof lasted me 5 years with regular maintenance.. and i bounced it off the rev limiter alot..

:birthday: Sweet ride Danny, I really enjoy the new Kawi 450 :D
Like you, what I like most is it doesn't leave me wanting anymore bottom end coming off a 500...pulls tall gears through corners great and doesn't feel taxed in deep loam. I've been riding one off and on all year and I've really come to appreciate it above the other 450s, particularly that piece of shit Honda sells. The bike has been riden as hard as it was meant to be, been skull fucked 2-3 days a week for a year now with no melt downs. It's seen the dealer twice for "ominous" noises :? but otherwise has been a gluten for punishment.

Atleast keep one of the 500's. After awhile on a four poke you'll get bored and miss scaring the shit outa your self all the time. Plus it's always good to have a back up bike, especially when its already paid for.

I've thought about it, I think I'm just gonna be very firm on my price. That way if it doesn't sell, then I'll just keep it

yeah except for being harder to start than a cr500 and a decompression that will split the cases. the only difference between those and the newer ones as far as reliability is concerned is that they didn't rev at such high rpms. my kawi comes on and shuts off way before the honda. I'm convinced it will last a good while.

feels feather light inspite of the weight.
I keep getting dyslexic about what I paid, so I grabbed the load doc and realized I was saying the wrong amount. $6645 after tax doc, etc.

So Danny, are you about ready to come on up here and show me how to ride yet? It's prime riding season right now.
