if it was only a shift fork, it might not be a bad deal because you could get a few bucks from the motor, assuming nothing else was wrong. but ive never heard of the 450 having tranny issues, so ill take a guess and say he may have abused it some how or ran it without oil. a GOOD 450 motor used to sale for a grand on ebay but i doubt their selling for that much now but i havent looked for a while, (a junk 450 would be hard to give away for free). either way i think youd be into the roller $1,500....which dont sound like a good deal to me, but thats just me. i would rather have a gen3 roller for a grand and put the other $500 into port work on a cr500 transplant mill. youll be into both cenarios $1,500 but one will be alot faster than the other. theres alot of WHAT IF'S when buying blown up shit, might just be a $35 shift fork.....then again the whole tranny might be toast. i think theres more to the story, if he believes its only a $35 shift fork, dont you think he would fix it rather than lose his ass selling it for $2000.
when somebody is dumping a bike for cheap, theres usually a reason why......and the reason aint a $35 shift fork
