yeah, that kinda scares me too. But how do you plan on powering the fuel pump?britincali wrote:Im trying to stay away from a dry kit and dont really like the idea of pressurising the carb for extra gas.

A small 12v NiCad batterpack does the job nicely

yeah, but what happens when the battery pack dies while running the juice?? BOOM!!!britincali wrote:dannygraves wrote:yeah, that kinda scares me too. Batterypack dies and both solenoids shut off before the pump stops.

I havent commited to anything yet thats why im asking questions, do you have any pics of your setup and what you used?LOVEMYCR500 wrote:If I did nitrous and needed to power the fuel pump (I assume it's a vacuum pump) I would run a vacuum line off the transfer port of the cylinder. It appears you are running a electric version?

I don't have a nitrous set up but I have ran alky in the past on some single cylinder larger bore machines and in this application you have to run a fuel pump. With alky you run a vacuum fed fuel pump. You can tap into any vaccum source, on this application I went into the side of the reed area. Some say this is fine, some say there isn't enough vacuum there and usually 90% of the people I know go into the side of the cylinder in one of the transfer tunnels. I assume you are going to run race gas with your spray and your pump is to get more fuel in when the spray is on so it's basically the same as what I was doing with the alky. Maybe this won't work in this application but I would think it would be easier since you wouldn't ever worry about a battery going bad and having to mount a pump along with a battery pack. Most guys I know run the nitrous express wet kit. I think for the money, the cold fusion kit would be just as good. I will be interested in knowing where most people on here running nos place their nozzle. There is a big debate on placing it in the carb in front of the slide, or in the intake boot because the bigger the shot of spray the bigger the chance of reed breakage, some like putting the nozzle in a transfer port (pointing down( to get a way from reed breakage but some think it interrups the incoming charge up through the transfers. if you are building a hill bike, I think I would just run alky. I think in the long run, it would be less hassle, yes you have to purge your fuel system at the end of the day, and you will need a diff carb and pump, but it has a cooling effect and you wouldn't over heat going up your big drag dunes in Cali.

He has the NX kit with the battery mounted under the seat, bottle bolted where the mudflap is and the fule pump in the airbox.
Heres another good site for NOS stuff....

I have Boondocker and Cold Fusion.
Cold Fusion makes more power, but requires more stuff to make it work.
Boondocker with a 5 hole nozzle works very well on my 500.
I don't think you can go wrong with either.
Keep in mind that it takes a bigger battery to run the wet kits also.
My kids RM80 will have a Boondocker kit for next season.
My R1 might be getting a wet kit shortly also.

One thing with Cold Fusion... it is imperitive that you have a fully charged battery and under 1000 lbs. of bottle pressure or you risk the chance of the nitrous solenoid not opening and only getting fuel injected.
Their nitrous regulators suck also- don't buy one. ALL of the ones I've seen on my buddies bikes have been removed and we're just using the gauge out of it to monitor bottle pressure.
