I have a buddy who used to ride street. he has a really bad habbit of not letting go. he has been stuck pinned under the bike, I don't even know how many times. at dumont, there were times he got stuck upside down, belly down, with the bike upside down on top of him still running. Out at the dunes, the bike is what will hurt you in a crash!

ive seen a guy bail off a bike and he caught a ride in the back of a ambulance with a compound fracsure to his right lower arm and a broken left wrist????
my buddys daughter bailed off her 150 coming down a hill and she caught a ride also, with a compond fracsure to her left arm
the first natural reaction when your going down is to catch your self or try and stop and the best way to do that is throw up a hand!! which can also turn into a bad thing fast!!! if you got a good set of bark busters go down with the bike and let the bike take 80% of the hit ,then roll off!!
every situation is different tho, i will usually hold on, i hit some dude up in stonyford head on i was in 4th gear rollin ,up the crest of a small hill hes was coming up the other side bblamooo!! i held on went over the bars landed about 10-15 ft away on my camel and fany pack it hurt pretty good to ,sprang both wrist from the impact if i would have jumped off i would have went strait into his bars and didnt have a chest protector on. later that next day i noticed my frame was bent at the neck thats how hard i hit.
i dont know about riden much in the street but could imagine at high speeds and a big a$$ bike coming at you i think i would let go to but your running to different programs ( a$$fault-dirt)!!!!!
