Just a thought
Has anyone made a copy of the steelie frame aluminum?
This picture has been around for a long time - most commonly refer to it as the Pro Circuit bike. Is it a 500? I think so, but I'm probably wrong. My visions still pretty messed up from the concussion a while back - I'm sure I keep seeing pink Elephants, without being on the piss.
To my knowledge, the frame & tank were made in Italy, I think this & other trick products were brought in by VRP (Verona Racing Products?) - MXA did a few articles on trick VRP CR250s & 125s with alloy frames, CF airboxs , body work etc, predominantly to create ultra trick, very light bikes for beau coup bucks - much like the CRF 250 they did a few issues ago.
I'm waiting for one of you guys to do an 2t 250 Yamaha alloy framed bike - a fantastic suspension package & great handling - they must be available cheaply over there. Frankly I think it would be a better bike than a CRF based AF - each time I've ridden a mates beautifully set up 08 YZ250 I get off it wanting to sneak it into the workshop & get cutting & shutting. He loves riding my steelie ( and has "purchased" my 07 CR250 based AF to help me out - he won't allow me to transfer the 500 from that into the YZ.......) and is currently looking for a clean 500 for a conversion, but it's not high on his priorities. He's a successful bloke, with lots of money, lots of toys, lots of talent and is a top bloke as well. But his profession leaves little time for anything but work. I actually feel sorry for him - and that's coming from a bloke who doesn't have a brass razoo to his name for the next few years. The stupid bastards going to work himself into an early grave

Man that thing looks COOL, is that a 250 or a 500 maybe 125.
Any idea where to get one, if at all possible.
Actually if you look on here somewhere there is a picture of a CR500 engine in a Yamaha.
It is a hillclimb bike, just don't remember where it is though.
FOUND IT!! it is in the AF/BEER CAN section under YAMAHA CHASSIS.
Check it out whoever wanted to see that type of conversion, forgot who it was. DOH

Aloha450x - yes, the bike pictured is a good example of a conventional alloy framed 500 - the Italian frame maker did them for 500s, using the later 125/250 tank & shrouds. Just like a Gen1, there were only very slight differences to accommodate the 500.
I do have a 500 pic somewhere in my archives, from Mammoth & European races, that I'll try to find - but it looks just like that. Just had my GF twist my ear & call me an idiot for not being able to tell a 250 head from a 500 - bloody hell, she actually does pay attention to the bikes. Trouble is, she's said that if my vision is still that blurry, there's no way I'm getting back on the bike . Hard to argue with that, really. Ahhh, she actually cares about my safety
