Uncle Crackers Gen 3 A/F Conversion

Well, here she is... 3 hours into the project....

Joe and I played hookie from work today, and got this project going...

Here is the swing arm alignment, ALL HONDA OEM BUSHINGS AND SPACERS! After some trial and error, I have found the Honda part numbers... Sweet!

The engine mount bolt WAS inside the frame cradle.. not any more! No welding required. The secret? I'll spill it later...

THe "Y" isnt going to be moved, just altered. It was ground for basic clearence to fit the motor. Ron will finish the reworking, and finish weld it back to stock.

The entire bike will look stock, like right out of Japan. Thats the key to any conversion I think.

Like I said 3 hours in, still have the make the head stay, coil bracket, pipe mount, tank reform and reassemble.

The bike should be done this weekend. Maybe 20 hours total.

After this one, its time to do mxracr121's frame, then Jays, then mine, then ???

Joe did a great job on the conversion so far...

These gen 3's are a piece of cake!

I have an extra gen-1 coil bracket, I wonder if it would fit the gen 3. If you want it, tis yours.
how does the headstay location compare to the gen1?

Sweet! So you did a gen 3 conversion without hacking the frame into bits, you should keep that a secret from the bitches on the "other" board, as well as the Honda part numbers for the swingarm spacers. :twisted:

That is sweet looking Bob, but how much clearanceing are you going to have to do on that down tube?
Looks mighty tight now and you still have the pipe and springs to go.

The rest of the build looks damn good though now I wish maybe I shouldn't have passed on the Bakersfield bike!!!

Step one: Buy a Tundra for $26000

Step two: remove mechanical bottle jack.

Step three: Jam in into the frame and start cranking until you have spread it enough to fit the mounts in.

This also helps allot in routing the coolant crossover hoses without doing the "Up and Over" path.....
