Exactly.......

I had a spare cover from an earlier engine, but I like the looks of the 2 piece (+ the additional clutch plates).
I had intentions of running AN fittings and the black braided hosing, but there wasn't room and it was too stiff.
The lathe took care of turning the threaded fittings into barb ends.

The engine led an abused life. The nasty coolant took its toll. Surprisingly the shitty-assed oil didn't.

I had a build thread posted here a long time ago. I lost track of it, so it's here somewhere. I think I have several threads, addressing different issues.

Yeah, the wedge was my solution to point the carb and air boot away from the shock. I didn't have access to different reed flanges and air box pieces, so I did what I do best..... whip up a custom piece when it could have been done easier some other way. I do a lot of custom hot-rod fab work, so making odd pieces for bikes is no different.
It was made from scrap and took a couple of hours to make. I didn't have to wait a week for parts to be shipped in and it's a perfect fit.

It'll do its job.

if you look carefully, it looks like that U is to make room for bolt heads/nuts since those last 2 holes appear to have studs on the carb side.

Pretty sharp eye man.

Aso makes it lighter. I cut tapered grooves as deep as I could, in the top and bottom of the flange also.
Cutting out all the excess makes a difference. I didn't weigh the thing, but it did turn out pretty light.

Could have bolted the silencer directly to the frame, but it would have barely engaged the pipe.
Just couldn't bring myself to hammer out a piece of metal into a Z.....Too bad it'll be hiding behind the # plate.
