it doesnt look anything like a '98 ignition. im guessing its from a older 500 or possibly older 250, but thats just speculation. good luck

looks like the 86 system i have, my 88 250 ignition is almost identical but the flywheel is not as deep and has a hub looking piece to it

I looked at an online parts diagram from bikes from the late 80's and it looks like there were some change-ups. Most of them have pictures of three different ignition systems. What year did they change to a plastic cdi box?

im thinking you might have a 85 or 86 setup. im not sure why someone would put that on a 93 though.

looks similar to my 86 system,but mine has the male/female connectors on the wires for the ignitioncoil not a bolt on type ground like that one my ground wire comes from the ignition coil,mine does have the red shrinkwrap on the other wires as well,that flywheel also looks different then mine

I say its an 85 the flywheel looks smaller then the 86. But what the hell do I know

I took off my 00 CR250 ignition and put this one on a couple of days ago. I can't feel a power difference but I had to turn my idle down with this ignition. It still starts first kick, if you kick it right.

It has a 30w lighting coil. Is that enough for a decent headlight?

i dont think that would power much. i think the digital cr250 ignition can run lights good. youll need 75-100w at least
do it!... cos if you dont, youll spend the rest of your life thinking about it anyway!
