I went on the AZ ride last year and got my biker bubbling for sure, but not as bad as I used to get it at apex (which is where I was riding last weekend). its the load of the sand, it really heats things up, plus the 100*+
But I'd love to go ride AZ again, that was some crazy stuff! Only this time some brush guards would be nice, those cactus needles are REALLY fun when they go in you thumb nail. I don't know if Justin would want to go again though, he was whining like a little bitch about his crash and his thumb and arm being all beat up  He was all like "wwwaaaaaaa, I can't even buckle my seat belt!"
but all kidding aside he really did get hurt.

ok, so an update.....
So I must have been retarded or something because with the suspension, I didn't even think about the adjustments.
So I remembered that the forks had some big PC stickers on them and I assumed that the guy 2 owners ago who was also the original owner had them revalved by PC, but then I couldn't figure out why it was sooo harsh. Sitting infront of the TV watching some crap about medical miracles that my wife was watching, it hit me... Adjustments! I made it to the garage in a second flat and got my flat head to see where the adjustments were. They were all ALL THE WAY IN!!! My big mistake was assumign that since the last guy was almost the exact same weight and height as me and trail rode it it would have been pretty well setup for me, I forgot that he was a total idiot! Now I'm the idiot for not checking those sooner. I pulled everything out a bunch, I took the compression on the forks out 10 clicks, as well as on the shock and the rebound 5 clicks on both forks and shock and I will see how it performs this weekend. I also opened the air bleeder and it was under so much pressure that the screws almost flew off when I took them out.
After the next ride I'm going to get my adjustments dialed in, then I will change the oil and see how much was in there. I still don't know how much to put in the inner chamber, I guess I need to buy a gen-1 manual.

oh and as far as I seat goes, I'm going to buy one of these in the tall seat.

Danny,
The bike looks good, congrats on gettin' it finished. When you service the inner chamber on the Showa forks, you can't put in the wrong amount because when your assembling it there are bleed holes that all the excess fluid will drain from when you put it together. The book has you overservice it initially then once you reassemble it, it will purge itself of any excess fluid. It's not hard to do once you've done it once.

Great looking bike Danny, thats MEGA SWEET.
Very clean and tidy build.
Do you still have that non metric bolt in the front mount.
How does it look after 2 years.
That actually looks like Honda built it that way in the first place.
Congrats and well done.

I had been watching this site pretty much since it started, but didn't register until 4-26-09 and found this while looking for something else.
At the time I thought you did a great conversion, but could not post until now.
So I thought CREDIT where CREDIT is due, better late than never.
If the bike looks better now, it must look really SWEET.
Danny I thought that was a picture of you in your avatar, obviously not.

a kid in town helped out the grad fundraiser in his own way by taking reference to his hero, Ricky Bobby. He wasnt able to display it, but had a sheet over it wtih a paper describing " a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on" it was a silent auction i guess, if id have know of it at the time i'd have been there, sold for 60$
