bit by the bug, have power ??s, ignition ??s

Post by LAYNFRM »

so with as tall of gearing as i am running on the street (15/40), i don't think the stock 94 motor is going to be enough for me. i don't care if it's a really "violent" power, i just want more power. a more violent powerband might be what i'm looking for and actually make it more fun on the street. i'm guessing a good port job is out of my price range, so i doubt i can afford that for quite a while with as many projects as i have going right now.

motor specs:
94 motor, fresh 1mm overbore wiseco, drilled and exhaust bridge relieved
v-force II reed cage
stock carb
PC exhaust with spark arrested silencer
fresh OEM crank seals

i've decided already on going with a CR250 ignition setup, so what year(s) ignition should i go with to have the least hassle installing it, most power, and getting a higher output lighting stator (75+ watts?)?

i'm running a ignition coil from a 05 CR250 that i bought but never got a chance to put on before i started the AF swap, so i used it. could that be part of my power problem?

i'm running an old '88 250 ignition, works good. chad450 has the same system.

I'd get that carb bored or a 40pwk

then hit the porting whenever it works for ya

good to know. i am trying to find what years CR250 i can get the 70+ watt lighting stators for, and then i'll go from there. i'm planning to run the CR250 flywheel too.
