Are you sure that is an 03 250, graphics look more like 05-07 250 could be wrong though. :?
Unless you mean gen3 CR250 in which case you are right. :D
Either way nice looking bike just the same.
It will make a great conversion for sure.

Yeah, graphics look '04+ but the front number plate looks '02-'03 although it's a little hard to tell from the side.

Regardless, nice bike and best of luck with your build!

Good eye, it is an 03 with 07 graphics, super clean well maintained bike. The guy i bought it from and his dad are my kind of people, very particular and proud of their motorcycles and it really shows in this bike. I looked at a lot of clapped out junk before i found this one. Thanks for the comments guys, really excited to actually be building one finally!!

the '02-'04 can be distinguished real easy at a far distance by the swingarm and chain guide. there is a short piece of weld up near the swingarm bolt. the '05-'07 didnt have the weld and was different chain guide.

I was going to say if it was an 03 Cr250 , its in bloody good condition with later graphics on it.
Either way it doesn't matter because its an awesome looking bike for its age.
Start building.

Danny i did check out your thread, really good stuff. I did see the thread on the other site as well,ktm620. Thanks CR500R7, like i said i looked at some pretty sad bikes before i found this one. Will take it out sunday for a ride at browns camp, before it start to tear it down for the conversion. Anyone know of this conversion using an oversize gas tank? Also saw shanman's post with a two sided head stay, are these available?

lots of gen-3 guys have run desert tanks, and if I remember correctly, they either bolt right on, or require minimal heat gun treatment. Either way, not much work. for gen-1 desert tanks are a PITA and gen-4 nearly impossible.

of course, keeping non-members from stealing their wonderful ideas is part of the master plan. i like the guys advice the other day: disregard the service manual torque specs for the clutch nut, use a impact gun on it instead so all the fuggin threads get stripped out. ya, BRILLIANT IDEA :lmao:

The 03 250 i bought came with a clarke oversize tank. It comes down and surrounds the top of the cylinder, looks like it will take some heat to fit the 500 motor.

Thanks, no powder coat just paint , it is dark gray. The graphics are 07 250, with the Honda and 500 pieces from 89 cr500 graphics.
