Growing up in the 60's and 70's, if you watched any TV, he was on most comedy and variety shows here in the states. One of the few entertainers who's only goal in life was to make others happy. Like the article said, in the '70s and early '80s he co-starred with Burt Reynolds in several movies which is where the Captain Chaos character came from (Cannonball Run & Cannonball Run II).
