Angels vs. Rays Game 3

First Inning
Jack is the starting pitcher for the Angels and looks very confident as he warms up. The third pitch thrown is hit to second where Brock fields it and throws to First for the out.
The second Rays batter goes down swinging at hard strikes thrown by Jack. The third batter pops one to shallow Right Field where Brandon gets it on the bounce and makes the throw to Second halting the runner at First. The Angels continued their strong defense when the fourth Rays batter bounces one to Short where Andre snags it and tags Second for the third out.

Bottom of the First
The Angels are still getting used to the expanded strike zone of the umpire and go down pretty quick.

Second Inning
Jack is back on the mound and throwing hard in the second inning. The first batter lines one back to the mound where Jack makes catch the first out. The next batter hits to second with Ziggy making the stop but is unable to get the runner at First. The Rays steal around the bases for the first score of the evening. Jack retaliates and strikes out the next batter on some pitches that really pop the Catchers glove! A couple walks allow the runners to get around the bases on steals for another score, but again Jack comes back and strikes out the next hitter for the third out. Score is now 2-0 Rays.

Bottom of the Second
Landon is the first Angels up and he lines one past Third for a base hit. Andre is next and lines another past Third advancing Landon and taking First. Mathew cranks the ball past First Base and all the way down the Right Field foul line for a two run RBI as both Landon and Andre score on the play tying the game at 2-2!!! Both Brock and Simon get hits but each time the lead runner is thrown out.

Third Inning
Jack is back and throwing strong once again with the first batter going down One, Two, Three. The second Rays batter crushes the ball to right center where Ziggy fields the ball and stops the runner at First. Sweet play Ziggy!! Another Rays batter drills one to Center but Brock is there to make another great catch in the Outfield. Jack finishes the third inning by striking out the last batter.

Bottom of the Third
Ziggy, Drew and Jack get on base with walks. Tyler nails the ball to Right Field driving in both Ziggy and Drew. Tyler is a RBI MACHINE!!! Jack goes for the score as well but is thrown out at Home in a very close play. Angels take the lead 4-2. Landon is up next and grounds one to Center driving in Tyler. Andre gets an infield single and advances Landon to Third but a few pitches later he is thrown out trying to steal Home. Angels 5-2 going into the fourth. This is the way to score runs Angels!!!! RBI- City!

Fourth Inning
First batter struck is out by Jack. Second hitter lines out hard to Landon at Second and the third batter strikes out as well on three very hard fastballs.. Very quick inning. 1-2-3 Angels!!!!

Bottom of the Fourth
Mathew walks and then Brock makes a perfect bunt advancing Mathew and is safe at First. Simon is up next and hits to the pitcher but manages to beat the throw at First. Safe! Mathew goes for Home during the play but is thrown out. Brandon is up next and take a shot to the head … A few tense moments follow, but Brandon springs to his feet and shakes it off. Angels are TOUGH!!!

Drew follows with a walk with based loaded which advances another run for the Angels. 6-2 Angels.

Fifth Inning
Jack is still pitching strong towards the end of the game but Landon is brought in as a reliever. The Rays score one making it 6-3. Landon strikes out the next batter but then it is time for Andre "The Closer " to come in. Andre gets the hitter with two fast balls and then his patented "Knee Buckling" change up. Last batter lines it to Short where Jack makes the snag for the third out.

Bottom of the Fifth
Jack's up first and walks on. Tyler gets up and rips one to Right Center for a single and Jack scores making it 7-3 Angels. Andre singles to Right Field for a base hit but bad throws by the Rays and good base running by the Angels.... and they both score on the play!!!!! . 9-3 Angels.

Sixth Inning
Andre still in as the closer. First hit is to Second and stopped by Brandon but the runner is quicker and is safe at First. Second batter pops it foul but Mathew gets under it and catches it for the first out. The next Rays batter lines another hard hit to second, Brandon makes a great stop and throws out the lead runner at Second for the second out of the inning!!!
Andre fires in his last pitches of the game. He records another "K" and ends the night for the Rays.

Angels win 9-3 … Two wins in one night!!!

Another great "Team Win" win for the Angels. Every player contributed to the Victory, and their were ZERO errors in the field. The Coaches had a long talk with the players last practice and the message that " Your error effects the Entire team. You have 11 teammates counting on You to do your best!" appears to have sunk it. Great Job Angels. Our team motto " EFFORT = SUCCESS" sure came true tonight. Game balls were handed out to Andre for his great Pitching and Never Ending Effort and team spirit, Brandon for his improvement all season and great put-out at Second, and to Landon for his great hit and base-running that won the Tie Breaker tonight. Honorable mention went to Ziggy for a sharp play in Right field and strong throw which kept a running from advancing and to Jack for another great job on the mound. The Tie Breaker Game was won on the Pitching performance by Jonathan, a great Center Field Catch by Tyler, and the heads up baserunning of Landon with a clutch hit from Brock. GO ANGELS!!!!!!!

On a side note, Jack was selected to ANNOUNCE 1 inning of the Angels / Mariners game on 5-31-09 at Angel Stadium. You'll prolly' see him running around, shagging fly balls if you get there early for batting practice.

Any Hoon's going to this game?

very cool!
I'm signing Seth up for tee ball next season. My mother in law signed him up for soccer this season and it was an epic fail, he really doesn't care about the game. I'm hoping baseball will be different.
