The Constitution clearly states, in part, "provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty."

What that means is that the govt. can promote the gerneral welfare, but not at the expense of anyone's personal liberty.

Pretty smart guys really. The founding fathers did not want the people or the govt. to be able to vote away liberties, and they tried to write into the Constitution ways to prevent this from happening.

Daily, I talk to people who beieve that our country was based on Democracy.....Not True! Make no mistake, our country was based on LIBERTY. A limited Democracy/Republic was applied to govern it.... with limitations placed on it by the Constituton.

What we are doing now, and have been doing for quite some time....is voting away personal liberties under the guise of something wonderful.

Take national heath care for example. Some would have you believe that it is your moral obligation to provide health care for those less fortunate, and if you don't then your a selfish bastard. I hope you can see that forcing them to do it removes the very principal this country was founded on and made us great......LIBERTY!

If we keep giving up a little liberty here and there under the guise of these "moral responsibilities" then one day you're/we're going to look around and realilze the govt owns us and is dictating how we live our lives, not to mention that we will be working to further it's agenda, not our own........That's called serfdom. Remember the govt is supposed to work for us.

What Bob is doing, is every bit as important as what you are doing. Some may say, even more. His voice and actions are calling out those who would steal liberties, just like you are fighting to protect us from those who wouuld steal them. I talk to people often about how much they pay in taxes, most answer wtih regard to income taxes and give me a much smaller percent than they actually pay. There are more taxes than simply income, and when the average tax payer adds them up, they pay more than 50%. Most are simply unaware.

As I stated above, when the govt owns more of our money than we do......THAT IS NOT LIBERTY.

To Bob's situation. It's his money to start with - a product of his labor or investment. In his hands it will get spent, saved or invested all to the benefit of others. It is far more efficient for the free market to move this money around than Government. Which is why Government should be indulged on a limited basis and focused on only those things that Government can organize (national defense for example).

Tax is taken from the citizen by the Government by coercion, under threat of fine, imprisonment or worse. At limited levels, we all go along with this because the alternatives are unpalatable. What is happening now is that government has got so big and arrogant that productive citizens are questioning (and stronger) why they should continue to fund it.

How you make your money (illegality aside) is irrelevant to the question about how much one should pay in taxes and whether the government then pisses that money away. The latter is none of our business - although I think that Bob is a business owner in construction - and the latter is a well-proven phenomenon.

I own a construction company that provides composite architectural parts to developers and custom home builders.

I'm not bragging about anything.... I'm informing knobs like Jeff about his left leaning politics, and how it effects those who bust ass by taking away any incentive to do well when the rewards from taking all the risk is going to be taken away to be handed out as "freebies" to their voting base.....

The Democratic party REQUIRES those who wont work, wont get an education, wont learn English, stop having kids they can afford in a broke family situation, blame slave days ( from 200 years ago) as the reason they struggle today, etc..etc..etc....

Our local schools are laying off great teachers due to funding..... the money is getting diverted to the programs I just mentioned.

In the last 50 years, Democrats have "enslaved" 10x more people than any "cracker" did on a plantation.



The message from the Dems should be:

1. Stay in school

2. Get married to your " Baby Momma".... stay off Springer

3. Put down the 40's, and the pipe

4. Stop complaining about shit from 200 years ago
