Bel-Ray S2 premix oil

Post by fastkart »

Anybody ever used it? A friend of mine has a cousin who owns a bike shop, and said he wouldn't run Blendzall in his weedeater (which is what we've always used with great success), and recommended a switch to Bel-Ray S2.

We got the motor broken in and started making some laps tonight... It was jetted blubbery rich on purpose because all the running we do is WOT, we just keep dropping the main jet step by step until its crisp, blah, blah, blah.

Anyways, it blubbered at WOT with a 190, so we backed down to a 185 and it started seizing up.

I'm just wondering if the oil is to blame? Hard for me to believe so, but just curious. We were using C12 mixed 32:1 with S2. Thoughts?

I have never had good luck with Bel-Ray premix. Might as well use Golden Spectro in my opinion. From 1991 on I have run 927 personally. I have never had an oil related faliure.

I've run nothing but Green Label Blendzall. Once again, I offer this photo of a piston as to why I won't change.

I've run BelRay MC-1 or H1R for over 20 years at 32:1 and never had a problem. According to their web page, S2 is
for small motorcycles, mopeds and motor scooters.

Not exactly sure what size main jet I'm running but seems like its a 175 at sea level on a stock engine.

Almost sounds like pipe is too tight. But that is a shot in the dark.

Ditto. MC-1. Only 32 years, and 50:1.

Provided you use it properly, any brand will do the job.

i dont like any belray products, not even the filter oil. without alot of inspection and what not, its difficult to say if the oil is to blame. at any rate, ill never put belray in my machines

The Belray S2 was a suggestion from a bike shop.

The motor that ran with the Belray will never see that product again, and will use only Green Label Blendzall.
