this might come back to bite me in the ass but i didnt want to drop a ton of cash on a expensive chain so i got the primary drive 520 H racing chain. anybody used this brand ? i read some reviews and they said it stretches alot. just wondering if it will last more than a few rides

they stretch a shit load. i made the same mistake on my steelie. plan on dropping a link or two after a few rides.

thnx for the input. if it stretches that far im throwing it away and buying a good one, which is what i should of done in the first place

. ill give a review after a couple rides, hopefully it will last that long

I put a primarydrive gold Oring on my son's yzf450. He's had several rides on it so far and it seems to be holding up very well. Been as good as any I've used so far. I've had good luck with the RK xso also, it just costs more.

Not 100% sure on this but I would bet there are only 2 or 3 manufacturers and the rest of it is re badged.

You guys think Renthal actually has a chain making machine?

I think any O or X ring chain should hold up pretty good.

I don't know about that but, I used one of the renthal oring chains about 5 years ago and it was a POS! Haven't used renthal since.

the model of which the thread is speaking is neither o-ring or x-ring, its old school design made in china probably intended for a garage door opener.

just sayin.

RK520XSO Is all i will run.. These things are great and last forever. I have 2 sand seasons on the 500 with the same chain. One very small initial stretch and it has been great ever since.

A little lube here and there and its been great ever since.

I just bought an RK520XS0 for mine, we'll see how it lasts. It looks like a fantastic piece.

I've heard the Renthal chains are rebadged DID's.

I like DID VM X ring chains my self I just pick up a 120 link X ring DIM VM from Moto X Outlet for $79.00 it is a $120.00 to $149.00 chain any were else.

i dont have a good feeling about this chain. i rode for 15min and either the axle slide forward or the chain stretched.

Yeah, I've bought 3 of those and the first one I put on my gen 1 over 2 years ago and its still holdin' up fine and that bike takes a beating.
I got a PD gold x-ring and put it on hoofarteds bike like 2-3 years ago and its still holding up.

I run non o-ring chains because I don't like the extra drag. It makes a big difference on quads, so I do the same with the bike........

I've had great luck with the DID o-ring chains. After they take an initial set, you pretty much don't have to adjust them again.

I wouldn't think about running a non o-ring chain on a 500 based bike.

Why not? My quad has about 15 more HP than the bike and a non o-ring holds up fine while drag racing.........for the last 2 years....while decreasing drag at the same time........

They may be fine for drag racing but they're shit for MX/off-road IMO. As far as drag goes, you're a better man than me if you can feel the drag from an o-ring chain on a CR500.
