Common Chain Length

Post by CR500PHIL »

I am building a Gen 1 CR500 AF. Will the standard 114 link chain work fine (and still provide ample adjustment) or do you guys commonly run another length? I am using 14 / 48 gearing.

I have 14/48 and 114 on my bike but it can't hurt to get a 120 link to be safe and cut it down

I'm pretty sure I was running 114 on my gen-1 w/ 14/47 but when I switched to a 49 I added 2, so I'm running 116 now.
I always just buy a 120 and break it to length anyway.
