Found a deal...

Post by Travis »

I caught up with a buddy of mine from highschool who used to ride quads and has moved to bikes now. I told him about my bikes and he said that he had gotten into fixing up random stuff. When I started asking about parts for random things that I own he tells me that he has a 400ex that he would sell. I said sure, I will come look at it. Most of the bike is there minus the engine which was there but locked up. I asked what he wanted and he said 50 bucks. I immediately said sold and am going tomorrow to get it.

My question is should I fix the quad engine, transplant in the xr 400 engine because I have began to kind of part it out, or lastly do the Cr500 transplant?

Naturally the cr500 I would enjoy most but I would lose my bike for it and have to figure out some radiator placement.

The xr 400 swap is most likely because they appear to use the same engine minus electric start.

Of course the ex engine is locked in the crank. Not just a hung piston so it could cost a little to fix that.

Anyone have any 400ex parts they want to give away???

The guy had cut the back fenders like a fool and kicking it would not be a problem. Are the cases the same minus the electric start or has anyone ever tried?

Put that 500 motor in there and ride it like my mom's dildo.

Know anyone with a 650 4-stroker? That would be a nice swap.
