so my buddy got his 5hundy the other day. it still has the stock pj and he wants to upgrade the carb. wanted to get your guys oponion on lectron 38mm. it will be mostly stock and used for street mostly with some dirt action here and there
I ran 3 48mm Lectrons on my 1200 sled motor. I found them to be a PITA for drivability. Don't know how they would work on a bike as I have not tried it, but based on the big triple nightmare, I never will run them on a bike.
They don't have a main jet, just a tapered (expensive) needle and power jet. Had a lean spot in the middle that could only be tuned out by making the idle-1/4 throttle way to pig rich. Went through 2 different sets of needles before I threw in the towel and just before installing another power jet for just the mid. Didn't want to reflash CDI and lose timing on shift out as this might have helped.
