I don't like that welded pin biz but who really cares if the work turns out good...
My KX500 crank rolled off the workbench and burried itself in the concrete floor in my Dad's shop after we trued it and attempted to balance. Come to find out the journals runnout had absolutely no change afterwards. So I'm not buying the welded pin gospel. Just looks like more bullshit to have to deal with next rebuild.
Thanks for posting all the pics 4Z, in hindsight I wished I had taken more pics of my rebuild. Be nice to hear what you think of it, yay or nay. I feel however the real test is after long term use, as any fresh bottom end is going to be alot more pleasing.

Guess who buys the rest?
I'm running a hot rod in the gen-1 without any problems.

He used my new 89.5mm PROX (yes cast piston) to balance with.MICK wrote:Looks pretty good![]()
Curious, what brand / size piston are you using? And what's the balance factor?
I am not expecting earth shattering results. Figured since it was going in the TT 125 gen 3 conversion it was worth it?
I debated on what rod to use, the HR rod was less expensive, hope it is not cheap'r.

throw the jug on that prox and check to see that the exhasut port doesnt open past the wristpin windage area of the piston. I've had some trouble even in stock porting, but large bore. Otherwise its a great piston.

LMAO. They do cost more than a OEM. LOL100hp honda wrote:skeeered of the wiseco ?![]()
I will have to remove material to get the weight down to match the PooX. I figured the OE would be easier to deal with. But we shall see, I may end up with a collection of every piston made for the damn things before I am happy.
