 Awesome.

I was reminded of this from the Catalunya rally. The driver remembered that there were a bunch of spectators on the overpass looking down on the junction and did a nice donut for them (at race pace)...

...but I don't believe he mentioned it to the co-driver before-hand who must have thought WTF!

Back in the day I used to have a 89 Toyota Supra 5-speed turbo with the targa top.....Loved that car !!!! I eventually broke a rod in the motor and couldnt afford to fix it. My brother had a Dodge Conquest TSI (same as Mitsubishi Starion ).

I had 3 starions, my black one ('88 conquest TSi) was an 11 second car on race gas and slicks, but setup for pump gas on street tires it was undefeated on the street  I'm going to look at the 3000gt tonight and might be having it towed home

Yep, those wonderful triple diamond interference motors. I have a 95 Galant. Basically the GT3000 motor (minus some good stuff I guess) in a smaller, lighter sedan. At 60k, I replaced my cam timing belt as prescribed. 12k later, it broke. Locked up the motor at about 50 mph. Top end completely trashed. $2k later, it is back on the road. I still have it. It's still fun to drive, despite the fact that it is a family car, but I won't buy another one.
No longer have a CR500.

ya, same deal at the old honda motors, timing belt snap resulting in a bunch of bent valves... they sure are fun to drive though

so, the 3000gt ended up being a POS  I was prepared for a rough body but not for "oh, the transfer case, 2 turbos and the engine block are in my backyard" the dude was border line retarded and reminded me of screech from saved by the bell, only with really poor hygene. he then said he wanted 1400 for just the roller, the motor (which was in peiced all over) would be another 1400, I politely avoided beating his face in and left.. :?
so, today I'm calling the supra guy

I've riden in a lot of Conquests and they're fast for a 4 banger fo so. One of my buddies has a VR4 and at one point was on the bottle with different turbos. Very fast car and handles great, gotta love AWD
