na, my last set of rings were at like .024 and no blowby. remember, there are 2 rings afterall. My old buddy DeWayne runs 1 ring w/ an aluminum sleeve setup  I think in that case the ring cap is a little more critical.

it get the ring to work you need to hone it like south central said and if you do...well... you are already pushing it on a worn out bore.
sorry, but that thing isn't going to run right without a fresh bore. also, as far as cleaning, I won't put something back together without it looking spotless. you should clean out all the carbor and sludge you can.
I'm still going to try the rings first becuase I can't afford to do the whole top end now. I know once I do, it will be a different machine. Any suggestions on how to clean out the pipe?[/flowplayer]

Ill have to get some. I think I'm going to have to take everyone's advice, save up the money and just re-do the whole top end. Does anyone have any idea how much a sperm bank would pay?

Depends how many times your 500 has jumped on your head.

Looking like Gary Busey wouldn't help you a whole lot.
