Have a quick Radiator question

long story short, i need a new left side radiator for my 2000 CR250.
i have a lead on a cheap 2001 CR125 radiator, and was hoping someone would know if they are interchangeable/the same part. i have heard the 125/250 radiators are the same, but i cannot find a solid answer, just talk of they "should" swap.

anyone know something concrete?

i have a 1 page document on deciphering honda part codes. first string of numbers (19015-KZ3-J25), indicates honda function and component number. second string of numbers (19015-KZ3-J25), is the product code or otherwise known as parts classification number in honda terms. this second set of digits indicates the product (model) that particular part was first originally used. third string of numbers 919015-KZ3-J25), indicates classification number. this indicates various suppliers or improvements for the same part. unfortunatly the info i have isnt current enough to know what KZ3 means, but the '99 cr250 one piece radiator also uses KZ3. good luck

19015: indicates its left radiator

KZ3: this number isnt unique to '00 cr250, and was used by previous models but i dont know how far back

KZ4: again this number was used in cr125 previous to '00 but i dont know how far back or where it originated

J25: im pretty sure this number means the rads were manufactured from the same company or from the same supplier

However, the original part 19015-KZ4-000 was introduced with the 1989 model. The original part for the 2000 model ended in - J20 and then went through several mods until ending with -J25.

It's only a suspicion, but I'll say the 125 and 250 rads are different. Expect the first to be smaller and lighter. Who knows if they have the same mounting points etc...

not to get in pissing match but how you figure KZ3 indicates '00 cr250 ? i must be mis-informed because what ive been reading says KZ3 has nothing to do with what year of bike the part will fit but rather only the year it originated from. '92-'96 cr250 left radiator was also KZ3. also, my sources are showing J21 as original number for '00 cr250/cr125. let it be known that none of this matters or concerns me in any way

I looked up my genuine Honda parts catalog and the part # breaks down thus:

Function Code (XX) + Component Code (XXX) - Part Classification Number (XXX) - Classification Number (XXX) + (optional) Color Code

Now when you introduce a new "model" like the 1978 CR250R and most of the bike has a parts classification number of 430, one can see how it gets thought of as the model #. When the 1980 CR250R turned up the "new" parts had a number of 467 and the carryovers were still 430....
