Bought a street bike.

I'd been wanting a street bike for awhile, finally found a deal yesterday 2001 R-1, 3300 miles I bought it from the second owner. It only has one scratch from the first owner that had a strap break when he had it on a trailer.

Its been a whole new experience riding on the street. The thing is way too fast I understand why so many people crash them. Luckily a few years of riding the good old cr500's has taught me a few things about throttle control.
I like it if I can just get over being paranoid about all the other cars and bigger stuff on the road not seeing me. I don't know how you cali guys could ever enjoy riding. Traffic here could never compare to what you guys get.

Anyways here it is nothing special all stock but plenty fast for anything that I need to do. Best part is being able to ride more often.

There was a beautiful VFR in there about a year ago. Old school Red, White and Blue.

Yeah this is the first street bike I've owned. Bought it four years ago. Like yours, it had super low miles and was 100% original. The best way to buy a bike IMO. This pic was taken about a year ago, when it was still street legal.


Traffic tickets and the resulting frustration led me to build a track purpose only bike. I found riding a bike of this caliber at 45mph through traffic to be lame. Splitting traffic at 120mph is much more fun...and it's not looked down upon I just received my Carrozzeria wheels yesterday so I'm pretty stoked about that. Excited to get the bike on the track again and see how it feels through the twisties. A stock RC51 runs about like a XR1000, can't really keep pace with those I-4s. Now mine runs like a CRF1000, I through everything at that motor but the kitchen sink

Yep...Nothing less than a Honda will do for me. I am loyal, so what can I say.

Riding is riding and a real sport bike is a different kind of thrill. It may not be a Honda, but everyone knows how potent the R series is.

I was looking for a bike w/a fairing. Some days I just hate getting beat by the wind.
Then I narrowed the search and wanted a V-twin.....the RC51. But wait.....I'm to tall for one. That's freakin sweet Mick.
I needed a sport-tourer. So make that a V-4 and gear driven cams, a true hot rod in feel and sound.
One came up for sale here and the rest is history. I got a 97 VFR750 for a real bargain.
In the last month that the truck has been parked, I've probably saved a couple hungred bucks in gas. It'll eventually pay for its self.
My first honda sport bike....and I am impressed.

I borrowed a buddies done up R1 for a couple weeks because he needed to borrow ol' smokie for a block wall project. Anyway, I have never seen my life flash before my eyes more times per day than that couple weeks! My dirtbike experience definitly came into play, because I didn't realize just how slick the paint for cross walks is and turning from warmsprings up marks on a banked single lane turn with a cross walk in the middle hard in 2nd sent me sideways and QUICK so my asshole kept me firmly stuck to the seat while I used some of my dirtbike experience to control the slide! even though it was a accident and scared the shit out of me, I bet that looked fucking badass to the cars stopped at the intersection!

anyway, ya, cool freaken bike, just be careful! I grew up in a military town and I don't know what it is about military guys, but they all much have a liter bike even if they've never ridden before, so I have lost quite a few friends
