welding

Post by redpuch »

I have been reading about the frame conversions and I was wondering what kind of welding process you are using to put the pieces together,MIG or TIG?

I'm just funnin'.....

Maybe if I goof on S/H, we can get AJ to log back on.

There was a S/H at Champion Honda in the parking lot last weekend, a Gen3 conversion.

Looked pretty good.

Maybe they had the batteries fully charged that day?

I had a friend use a similar set-up with a coat hanger and some batteries to repair a crack in his frame on an old CJ-5 while on the rubicon trail. crazy. the weld held for the rest of the trip

Funny stuff bob.. ;)

hey! it does look "kind of" like ,my TIG machine ?
(well if you think bob "kind of" looks like Leann Tweeden)

truth is:
i dig reading all the various forums and of course anything on the 500's ..
but i dont have the time to log in often anywhere ..
Im way busy with work..could never catch up ..if i work a zillion hours (which the wife already complains that i do)
then like most folks, there's the family stuff, wife, kid,
and trying to fit in some racing and riding..
simply keeps my net browsing time slim to none.

Thanks for the laugh though..

:D

Now I know what my uncle was doing. I was around 5 years old when I saw him do something like this. I guess you do what you got to do when you're in the middle of a swamp playing in the mud in an old Willys (sic?) jeep. So, what's the decision? Mig or Tig?
