I have a dream...

Post by MICK »

"I have a dream that one day 500cc two strokes will rise up and live out the true purpose of their existence: “When one wants absolute unadulterated power. Sheer gut wrenching, arm stretching and neck snapping power. A rider must go Open.”

I have a dream that one day in the garages of riders across the nation, that 500cc engines and quick and agile Lites class chassis will exist as one.

I have a dream that one day on the Motocross tracks from Maine to California and trails from Florida to Washington, tracks now hurting in rider turnout and trails being closed due to noise, will be transformed into playgrounds for quiet and reliable 500cc machines.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day be apart of a sport that hasn’t forgotten the sound of a 500cc two stroke, but instead aren’t aware that four stroke motocross bikes had ever been produced."

I can't remember who said this, but he sure knew what he was talking about

"arm stretching"

I'll say, my right bicep and upper for arm were killing me after I got home.

I like that dream, but the sad thing is, it may be our grandkids that turns up at a race meeting on our bikes 50 years from now and with crowd fascination the bike still pulls the hole shot and CR500 is still King. :)

Ya know, years ago I use to ask myself "What it would be or how are they going to improve on an already great bike?" Yamie, Suki, Kawi, included. Well we know the answers.

Today all I see is FI coming, and who knows how many after market electronic gizmos to "Possibly" make it better/faster. We'll see I guess *shrugs*
