So.... my tank has been dripping for a while... both at the Pinnicles and Pismo rides.

I thought it failed, so I have been kicking around the idea of constructing an Alloy one.

I finally found time to pop it off today....

SURPRIZE!

Its only a pin hole, rubbed through on the bottom by making contact with the right side water outlet.

I'll fix it, and give it another go.

Perhaps it is a workable idea after all......

Bob i gotta question...I was trying to locate some 3/8'' lexan sheet for my airbox mod, but could only find 1/4''...boot distance to airbox should be good but i was just wondering if you felt that 1/4'' was too thin for the application?

I think 1/4" will put the boot too close to the shock.

What city are you in??

Their catalog gets any thicker, it'll need it's own shelf.

Improvise, I could not find any lexan either, so I used a sheet of 1/8 aluminum I got from an old ceiling tile at work.

I got a big ol' sheet, enough for 2 airboxed from home depot, in the back by all the weird shit (for sale signs, locks, chains, etc.)
It was like $10 and a little under 1/4" (maybe 3/16") in a 2'x1' sheet

ok gettin'er done o'er hurrr, but i gotsme a kestion...

did you guys grind out the little airbox bolt nipple things on the boot side? it looks like bob did, i decided to drill holes to make the lexan fit right tight against the box...but after i did that i realized that it would probably be better to grind them off and have a complete sheet covering all the holes...

don'tcha think?

I chose to use the filter that matched the airboot just so they would mate up perfectly, plus this way all 3 of my bikes use the same filter
