Gen 2 Exhaust

Post by JBaze »

I don't know if it is of any importance, but in my venture building my gen 2, I used the exhaust off of my 1990. Every thing fit really well, and the silencer holes lined up perfectly with the 250's mounts. I just had to put a small spacer in between, when I get a S/A I will move the mount over on the silencer to make up the 1/2" gap. But for now, it works good as is. I was suprised and thought I would share that. Jason.

Can you post a pic of how your silencer and rear fender fit, my pro circuit spark arrester touches the rear fender over 1/2", and I do not want to trim the fender; but I have thought about trimming the silencer.

This is an FMF closed course silencer, so I didn't go through the expense of relocating the mount on this silencer because I need a spark arrestor where ever I ride any way. But the bolt holes all lined up perfect and I just put about a 1/2" spacer in at the top to take up the difference for now. But I didn't have any problems with clearance of the rear fender. Also this is all a 1990 set up, in 1991 they changed the sub frame and silencers I belive.

I also have spark arrestor, but it is 2" longer than yours and it hits the rear fender, I guess that I will have to cut the silencer. Thanks Man! :)
