I left the same jets in as I run up here at 2000 ft, both bikes ran like raped apes with no pinging.

100hp, my shit was running tits I just wish the rider was better

IIRC my AF has a 175 main and the 2000 has a 182. Both PJs.

Base line for Service Honda CR500AF with 38 and 39 PWK. These were obtained from AJ himself.
Main - 175
Pilot - 55
Needle - 1368N 3rd clip position
Slide - 6.0
AS - 1.5 turns

I haven't touched the jetting on my bike and it was rich at Pinnacles and worked well at Pismo. Probably still a little rich, but not that I'd notice.

Your insane, you werent even there..... It just rattled a little WFO...

I run a 41mm PWK, had a #40 pilot, DGJ needle in the 3rd clip, and 180 main.

If I moved the clip down one, and had a #185 main , would have been purrrrrrfect.

Bob, I thought you had a PC pipe? I'm sure the PC would take a little more main than my gnarly with a #180. Sounds like I'm close but I will take a #185 with me. Thanks

you will be mostly on the main jet all weekend, thats just how sand is

55 slow

stock needle on 4th clip down

185 main...do some wide open runs and shut it down, listen to what it sounds like and take a quick look at the plug. im betting it will be real close. if it darkish brown, dont be afraid to drop another size or two or three, to get it LEAN AND MEAN  . you do want to stomp ass in the drag race right ???

1-take 17mm open/box wrench to quickly loosen bowl plug

2- take small 1/4 drive rathcet, 6mm socket, small needle nose vice grips

 gauranteed winning combination right there

Pffft. Getting the launch right and dealing with the whoops takes more skills.

Dropping the main in the sand is fun too.

my bike required a whole crap load of tuning and still didn't run right, I bumbed my mikuni pilot from 50 to 60, ran my 46m needle at 5th clip on a r-2 needle jet, 370 main and 100 power jet. it was purfect on the pilot, and perfect 3/4+ but was knocking at 1/4 and hard to start. I have to call Jon and see if they make a needle jet larger than r-2, if not.... then its drill bit time!

If you're setup with a crisp tune (which is what I always go after) you will have to do some serious rejetting at pismo. If you run a stock tune, or tune like brit, you can probably leave it alone and it will run okay.
