Here's a couple of vids to show what I do for a living. Thought some might find it interesting.
The first one is of a "Perforating Gun" which puts holes in the steel casing that lines the dirt "borehole" of a oil well. The gun puts holes as well as fractures the formation to allow the oil to flow into the well so it can be pumped out.
This one is of a "Chemical Cutter" which can cut metal tubulars down in the well which allows them to be retreived when stuck. There are many different sizes depending on the size of the tubing or casing. I've shot up to and including one for 7" O.D. casing. These things are nasty, we really gotta be carefull with them.
