Wheel Swap??

Post by Travis »

Will a 91 cr125 rear wheel fit my 89 cr500? Mike and I were talking about my broken spoke the other day which got me to thinking I could just stick the 125 wheel on there and not worry about a spoke for a while. Should I bother with switchin em, steal a spoke from the 125, or wait on the Honda shop to drag ass around until they figure out how to sell them separately?

I don't know if it fits but the 125 has a 19" rim that isn't as wide as your 89 CR500.

Does someone have a couple of spokes and nipples off and 18" rear wheel you could send Travis?

That's alright Mike. I didn't know the 125 had a 19 in 91. I thought that was just later years. If the axle is the same I am switching them tomorrow even if it is a 19. I just found out they closed the last place I had to ride locally anyway. So that leaves me to pavement riding now. I will run the skinny wore out 125 tire til she blows. Then buy a spoke and put my new tire back on it. haha

I honestly don't know. I just assumed they were the same size. What about the axle though?

It is an 18 and it fits. Spins something horrible but I can ride it and not worry about my spokes. It is supper skinny though. looks like a short front tire on there though. haha Do you guys think the swingarm will fit? If the front area is the same I may have that 125 arm lengthened for better hill climbin.
