Gen 1 125 question

Post by smokindodge »

I am finding some killer deals on some gen 1 125s. The frame is different from what I understand? But I can also get a bare 250 frame for around $100. If I were to combine the 2 would the swingarm and everything else off the 125 crossover? It seems like it would, let me know if anyone has any suggestions. I am ready for another project!

I don't know the answer, but I would suggest that you maybe get on a site that has Honda part numbers like Service Honda and start comparing part numbers. If the numbers are different, you can safely assume that the parts are at least a little bit physically different. Be aware however, that the suspension on a 125 will be different (in make and likely quality) than on a 250. Showa vs. Kayaba forks immediately comes to mind as an example.

Sometimes a part will be the same, then a different sticker will change the part #. Shrouds are a good example of this.
