Starting my conversion on saturday

Post by Big B50 »

I plan on starting on sat. I have a couple questions. I own a 03 crf450 and I dont know what gen it is. I'm using a 91 500 motor. Also whos build should i follow for that gen and does anyone make a kit for that gen. I would appreciate any help I could get.

I thought CRF's are Gen 4's.

I wanna' say that the '02 through '04 450's are Gen 3 frames (I know that the '02 and '03 are) and that the '05 is a Gen 4. :?

I thought cr250 frame 97-99 gen 1, 2000-2001 gen 2, 2002 on gen 3,
gen 4 was the crf-crx frames

first gen. CRF's are considered gen. fours and up. Gen's one through three are designated as CR250 (and to some extent CR125's) chassis. That's my take anyway.

You're thinking CRF250's, not CRF450's. I know for sure that the '02 and '03 CRF450R's were Gen 3.

EDIT: I found this on one of my CD's:

CR250R Generation 1 1997-1999
CR250R Generation 2 2000-2001
CR250R Generation 3 2002-2007

CRF450R Generation 3 2002-2004
CRF450R Generation 4 2005-2007

CRF250R Generation 4 2004-2007

If I recall correctly, Billy provided this info on one of the sites. I put it in document form to try to keep it straight.
