I didn't see this as a launch pad for yet another round of "let's slam Service Honda" bullshit. I guess it was bound to happen. :moon:

I fail to see any reason to throw dirt on anyone.

Hell, at least it keeps the 500 somewhere on the radar.

Can't imagine where we would be if nobody was building these bikes.

Live and let live.

If Service Honda wont raise their game to offer quality bikes, TT will be more than happy to fill to void.

And thats all anyone here has ever said.

People would be building these things anyway but SH did put them back on the map and if a 2 stroke big single comes back into the game in the US their input will have helped this alot in the way they gave the bike good exposure.

The SH I had for a total of 2 months was of nice quality,I was surprised when I saw pictures of how the builds seemed to have varied from bike to bike.

I do have a beef with them they sent me a 100$ worth of parts that were the wrong ones and I did not open the box until 2 weeks later and they would not take them back. Other than that my dealing have always been good.

To me they charge so much for the conversion machines, that the quality should be second to none. I've seen and riden one of them my buddy bought from them used for 9800 bucks, and there were issues with it aside from the booger welds. My home brew A/F may not have the best looking frame and true the engine isn't a zero hour unit, but there is no way a SH one is worth 11,000 dollars more. Anyone that makes a precision non SH A/F and sells it for less than SH is good in my book.

I dont see it in the link anywhere. Did a search and only pull up the steely 500 vs 450 shootout. Guess I'll have to check the magazine at the newsstand.

For god's sake what are you having Service Honda do to a bike to drop 11K more dollars in it than your home brew?? Last I checked they went for $9500. Considering there isn't a big bore thumper made that retails for less than $7000, and some are pushing 8K (KTM 505SX is $7500). Hey if you want a cheap Service Honda who said you had to buy a brand new one?? I know I'm not the only one that can find one in any given Cycle Trader. $2000 extra for a ZERO hour 500 mill, your choice of exhaust system, 39mm PJ carb and custom fabrication is a steal IMO. I feel like a lot of you guys expect most of that to come at no additional cost.
