WTB: some kind of streetable xr

Post by Ported&Polished »

I'm in the market for a xr bike. Not sure which size, just needs to be streetable which is easy here. I want to ride it into town for those trips that don't require a car. Be nice to get a 600 or 650, but even a 250 would sufice I think. I might trade my good 91 cr500 for it.

Maybe, Jay is gonna get me a pic of it. I think my cr500 is worth a bit more than a xl250 but we will see. Also I am not sure Jay wants another cr500, he has like 32 of them already. :o

Hey Bro, got a 95 xr600, plated with two sets of wheels, pirelli scorpians on the excel wheels and brand new front tire and 60% rear tire on stock set of wheels. Just rebuilt the engine in jan with hi comp piston and stage 1 hot cam, gets 55+ mpg and pulls the front wheel an the first 3 gears. Just put a 5.5 gal acerbis tank on it, I will get some pics for you when I get home in the morning if you like. Let me know , Thx Jared

Alright, still looking. What do you guys think of this. A guy close to where I live has a 02 XR650 with new chain, sprockets, and tires. And a fmf exhaust, renthal bars, a carb kit, and 9000 original miles for 2700. Does that sound like a good deal? He says it's clean and looks new.

It is plated, but that means nothing here, costs like 8 bucks to get a dirt bike street plated. I could street plate either of my cr's and do no mods at all. Here is the ad. http://prescott.craigslist.org/mcy/676445201.html

Ok, good to know. Makes sense that they call the street one L, but I don't know why they made the L air cooled when the liquid cooled engine would be better. Thanks Jay.

Ok, tomarrow I'm gonna look at this bike. It's an 00 xr650r dude wants 2700, I'm gonna offer 2400 and go as high as 2500. It's all stock witha new front tire and a new 07 tank and shrouds for some reason. What do you dudes think?

Get it. For 2400.00 you won't be disapointed. I sold mine and regret it.

Well I bought it! This is a sweet machine. I'm pleased as hell to add the Big Red Pig to my stable.
