I thought you knew! :shortbus: The only bummer is that I can't put my ATC 70 with my 160 stroker motor in it on the Dyno the rear axle is to wide but, I still think it makes about 20 hp but what do I know.

Alot of people have dyno's on dirt bikes but for most applications it is a waste of time unless you are dragging or something. The CR5 power band is so narrow a dyno shows it clearly but for real small seat of the pants feel they really are not sensitive enough to pick it up and do show slight differemces betweem pipes but the differences are slight but to a pro can be a big deal so a dyno is alot of times useless to them. Throttle responce off bottom is one area where a dyno has problems picking it up.

C'mon Scott how many times have "You" personally had "Your" personal "CR500" on the Dyno or even had someone else's "CR500" on a Dyno and done multiple pulls. Then actully "Dyno tuned" a CR500?

For that matter has anybody else?

I am going by a dyno test in the 1999 dirt rider. they put all the 1999 bikes on a Dyno jeyy and ran them. The Cr 500 made the most power and also over about the narrowiest range. 56 RWHP stock at around 5600 RPM.

The motor on a CR5 is so dinky you just tune it by seat of the pants.

I have freinds of mine who build engines that are 5 and 600 HP on bikes as a matter of fact Roland Stuart who tunes the Spider Man's bike his shop is 1 mile from my house,do you think your dyno could handle Rolands tuneup? He only tunes the quickest bike in the world with about 1500 HP so I have access to lots more motor info than you know , just call his shop here in Gainesville so you can talk to a guy who knows how to make a fast motor. 352 373 6502

Why bother putting a Moto x bike on a dyno for most cases as waste of time. Alot of people ( SHOPS ) own dyno's these days. As a matter of fact I was at one of the local Harley shops last week for their Buell grand opening and they were doing runs for 10$. Access to a dyno is no problem these days.

What is the difference in power from a 99 CR 500 and a 2008 like a 9 year old dynojett report is not valid on a Cr500. The good thing about the article was all the bikes were tested on the same dyno so it was a very valid comparison.

I know what they make because my freinds who own dyno jetts would run them all the time. And around 55 is normal for one that is right stock.

it says cr500 right on the paper  . you wont see a graph like this with FMF or PC pipe, lets leave it at that

Just what kind of truck would that be? A Tonka truck? a Radio controlled 1/8th scale? Just curious........ What the heck are you smoking?

That's why I was asking if it was a lie but those are great #s how bad does it hurt reliability?

That is the thing you have to go in there and set the motor up to turn 9000 RPM then feed it the extra fuel it wants as well as spark but the pipe is the key. You have to build a pipe that has a 9000 RPM timing set and a procircuit and a FMF as well as stock are designed for 6000 RPM peak.

Most people do not realize if you take a CR 500 and raise the exhaust port to much to turn more RPM with a stock or FMF or PC you will make less power than stock because the timing of the pipe will not match Exhaust port timing at all. Stock port timing lightly modifeid is best with the stock style pipes.

That is a great dyno chart and must be a even better ride!!!!!!!!!!! :P

C'mon Scott now how could "you" personally have more access to motor info if "you" have friends and "read" these things and "I own a Dyno" I also work on Flight systems parts for the space shuttle that doesn't mean I can fly it and I wouldn't try telling people they don't know what their talking about. You are right about the 55 rwhp but some CR500's make less.

100hp honda :headbang: but shouldn't your screen name be 89.07hp honda? I'm just playing man....That's awesome!

The bikes have week bottom end stock. Honda purposely set the 90 and later models up like that so the light asses could handle them. A good running 250 will stomp a stock Cr 5 in lowend responce.

they make OK torque at low RPM but have poor responce down low. It can be fixed big time. the easiest solution is a FMF narly, that wakes the bottom up but revs less on top.

And by the way are sure you want to be part of the shuttle program? I call that thing Killer if you know what I mean.

If you tell people you work on the shuttle they may be scared to ride one of your bikes because it may come apart in flight.

Give me a old Saturn V, hey Bob what was the greatest machine man ever made? :D

They were especting to loose about 1 orbiter in 50 so it has about the right track record for the design.
