I was looking at the 300 and the Charger.
The wife says, why dont' we get something fun, I say OK.
You saw the results.
So I guess I'm no help.

At least it has a back seat for my 8 year old.

More serious. I orignally wanted a sedan, rear wheel drive, American made. That pretty much gets rid of Ford and GM.
I rented a 300 for a day. Standard, low end six cylinder. I thought it was fine.
I test drove a Charger with the Hi Po six and the Hemi. The Hi Po six felt more responsive and easier to drive. True, the Hemi had more power, but not till about 70. Around town, the six was more responsive. Salesman didn't want to hear any of it because they were giving better deals on the Hemi.

I did a little research. The Hemi has a 2.90 rear end, the Hi Po six has a 3.55 or there abouts.
Chrysler gives a LIFETIME warranty on the drive train.

Word has it was based on a Mercedes E series chassis. The car was developed during Mercedes tenure.

Like anything, criticism can be tossed all over, but I was ready to do it.
This is coming from someone who is NOT enamored with Chrysler.

I think resale might be soft on these cars.

Dont even consider a 300 unless you get the hemi or the SRT-8, the V6s are junk.

Check out a new toyota avalon, they will flat spank a 3.5 chrysler 300 and get way better gas milage. (they will also not spend 1/4 of their life on a lift)

One of my favorite cruising cars on the lot.

Why not wait for the Pontiac G8? I'm a huge Chrysler fan, but I'm not sure how reliable the 300/Magnum/Charger series is. I have an 05 Hemi Ram, and it's had it's fair share of problems in 70,000 miles, I probably wouldn't buy another one.

I'm thinking about replacing my truck with a cop car Crown Victoria, they (or a Grand Marquis) fit your milage and towing requirement.

Just a 300 with a diff body. And they aint making them anymore so the resale value is gonna be in the toilet (even more than a regular domestic)

Just bought a 07 Dodge Magnum SE with the 2.7 v6. Since I only need one fast car{87 Cutlass 350\330hp}, my only requirement was rear wheel drive. The 2.7 is not fast, but who cares?Tickets cost money.Average gas mileage has been around 30 and I expect at least 36 on the highway. This is what we got the car for. Besides, I think the car looks cool.
Brit, what issues have there been with the smaller v6?I hope they don't blow up.One problem with new cars is the lack of grease nipples on all moving parts.I suggested too my friend who has a Hemi Charger too get some sort of tip for a grease gun so that you can pierce the rubber boots and sevice the joints. He thought this was funny until the dealer told him this is what they do after warranty is up.

In 03 they got a TON of suspension refinements. Finally got rack & pinion steering, decent disc brakes, etc. They're lightyears better than the 02 and previous cars. It isn't going to match a Toyota or Lexus (I wouldn't even consider them to be in the same leauge), but the 03-up's drive pretty nice. I've had my choice of an 05 cop car, and 06 Town Car, or an 07 Crown Vic to drive for work for the past couple months, and I was really surprised how they finally drive like a decent automobile. You'd never notice it though, since Ford in their infinite wisdom didn't do any cosmetic changes at the same time...

I have a Nissan Altima... Drove it to tucson weekend before last.. 28mpg there.. changed the air filter got 31mpg coming back.. All hand calced.. The 5 speed add's plenty of fun and the 2.5 4 banger in the altima has alot more get up and go than the new fords.. I drove my mom's new fuckus and that thing is a TURD!!

The New CVT Coupes are fun to drive feel kind of strange at first but a fun little car if your into the 2 seater thing... If you need larger seating my altima can seat 5 very comfortably with plenty of room in the trunk for at least 3 dead bodies or 6 mexicans :P

They are a hot running motor, use decent oil and change it often, also keep the cooling system tip top.

DO NOT RUN PENZOIL, these motors turn it back into wax.

ALL the 2.7 V6s Ive seen stripped in the shop had a good 1/4 layer of burnt tar looking buildup, they run hot and are hard on oil, keep it cool and fresh oil and you'll have no isses (apart from no power  )

Whatever, the car I posted will smoke every car suggested here, and last twice as long. Of course not everyone wants a Mercedes, but no American car comes close to that one when it comes to quality or power.

300 kph = 186 mph.... whisper quiet....

The famed Bugatti Veyron goes 14 mph faster, for 1.3 million.

Yea right, those things have only 580 horse power and 480 lb feet of torque. The MB has over 600 hp and 738 pound feet of torque. They both have the same top speed, but the MB will get there faster. :D
