we have no national language because the men who started this wonderful country believed in freedom, freedom to do whatever the F@#$ you want, down to what you chose to believe religiously and what language you would be ALLOWED to speak. Its common courtesy to learn english when you are here, much like how I chose to learn hungarian when I was living in Hungary. More than half the hungarian population speak english, but I was in their country, so I learned their language.
English is the language we speak here in america, but you are allowed to speak in whatever freaken language you want. I get pissed when people don't make the effort to learn the language becasue that is just rude! The libs make it too easy for them though, giving them a spanish version of every DMV document and a person there the translate, but guess what, are to road signs in spanish...uhm, I don't think so!
The thing that drives me nutts is the fact that both sides (dems and repubs) are pushing thing to the extreme! We don't need to give handout to every lazy bum from mexico and we don't need to make abortion and stem cell research illegal! this country was founded on one principal that everyone seems to want to throw out to window... FREEDOM!
freedom to say what I want, believe what I want and do what I want, even have my tax dollars justified! now what the hell happened to "no taxation without representation"?!

As both of my parents immigrated from Hungary (Legally) and had to conform to US standards and got no special handouts, etc. I never heard a message translated to Hungarian. IMO, all fukn bi-lingual signs should be removed. And that goes for the Asian writing you seen in City of Industry, etc.
