Finally someone who can back their shit up!
rock on hoon! Goes against the principals I went by for my porting, but I like the fact that you can back up what you post.
Also, if you really are into this, the '88 and older motors use a head gasket that is exactly .040 thicker, so...

danny claims his is fast- i have yet to confirm this in person  . but if you examined everyones motor they would all differ in one way or another, yet all of them are pretty fast. brit has a unique combo, danny has his own design, i was running something alittle different than other guys, lewisclans is a mystery other than it doesnt have the exhaust bridge, mojo i guess has gorrs work, Pstofers has something diferent than the rest of us- 6 guys with 6 different cylinder configurations, theres alot of ways to get around the race track and no offense to blownbillybob for doing his own thing

Billybob, that is way to funny, you need to stop read shit and actually try that shit cause your motor won't run nothing like you claim.

dont you mean SIDE SLOW BILLY BOB

i have tried it as i mention on my 89 but its the hole combo not just cutting the base 40 and raise the exh 40. theres more to it than just that. i just finished my 91 and rode it last weekend with the same basic work and its even faster then my 89 is. and this was going to be my trail bike.

Why dont you think its going to work id like to hear what you got and how your set up is and what you ride.

SPREAD THE WORD DAWG

100HP HONDA!!!!! no offense taken

ITS ALL GOOD IN THE HOOD

First things first, this site is gear to a group of great people who enjoy the same hobby. Unlike othersites if you come here it is pretty clear that this is a none BS zone. While this thread started based on comments you made eleswhere, they were talked about here because of the BS factor which was mainly do to your comment about your mod having arm ripping power.

Well lets start with that, fact: your mod does not do that , you may think so and if I had to quess why I would think that maybe your jetting is out and when you dropped your transfers and bumped the head 40 you got closer to a better jetting program.

The fact is besides the compersion increase the total effect will be broader power that is flatter but no increase, in other words none hit 4 stroke power. The increase only came from the change in compression. But you made it clear it was your total package that made for arm ripping power and that ain't true. To me that sets off the BS meter, it ain't ment to hurt your feelings, it's ment for the broader purpose of keeping newbies from getting wrong info.

If you took another barrrel, shaved the head only you will find it gives the same arm pull you were talking about. But will still feel like a 2 stroke. How do I know this? Well as a kid I raced short track a GP Karts, In those days a very long time ago were I lived there was no real after market for engine parts and I had very little support from others so being I ran variuos chain saw motors I always had a big box of tons of extra barrels, motors, carbs ect. I've tried stacking gaskets, making paper thin gaskets, no Gaskets, carving new shapes with various hand tools and disks , ram air intakes, air boxes ect, I could write a list the goes on for miles.

So while we talked about you mod you flamed this site as the whole group of people not being up to your master skills of R&D. The truth is you were very wrong. I give you credit for your then silky smooth reply to keep this thread from turn into a bash fest.

One last thing, you should do a little home work on how to get arm ripping power, as far as CR500 go in bone stock delivered to dealer form the 84 was king of the arm jerk, now it you get your pencil and paper out and do a map on that barrel you will find the exact oppesite of the mod you did, that is a fact.

Also you say it is like Gorr's Mo Better well I can tell you it is not as to get Mo Better requires plastic filler and the redirection of the tranfer charge, which you did not do.

I kinda like "side show Billy" got a good ring to it.

we already did that! off the bottle, I left his ass in 4th, on the bottle he took me by about 2 bike lengths (but he was also having bottle temp probs and I was having launch probs) I need a better tire and some length added to the swingarm, when I launch hard, bad things happen
I was launching super mellow, to the point where everyone on the 450s were a good 3-4 lengths ahead of me off the line, but as soon as I short shifted into 4th I had to try to keep the front down and it seemed like everyone else was slowing down :D .
In my opinion that bike has gotten too fast for a stock swing arm.
