Anyone experience this before? I'm just trying to get some ideas as to where to start my search.
Just rebuilt the top end and everything was great at home. Started her three times and everything seemed fine. Got out to Superstition this weekend and after a short time it started to surge at idle like it was lean. Did not seem to effect anything other than idle.
I'm going to start with some carb cleaner spray on the boot to see if there's a crack there.
The only change I've made is running 927 vs Super M.
Its a big change from SD to Superstition in air temp and Humid.
In my case I rode Perris this last weds, and Sunday. Weds I had a little surging. The air temp was cooler than Sunday. Sunday was about 10* hotter and the air was a lot dryer because of a slight Santa Ana wind. However I had NO surging at all on Sunday and I didn't change a thing.
Also turn the mix screw in, even down to half a turn, if it goes away at less than half a turn richen the pilot.
Thanks for the input, I'll have to mess with the screw.
I forgot to mention this in my first post, but when putting the top end back together I did notice one of my reeds was not closing 100%. There was a gap of about 1 mm. And when I got home last night I noticed I do have a slow oil leak...seems to be coming from the oil seal behind the sprocket
Could it suck air from there? Never been inside the bottom end
Nor do you have to go there to change that seal. You can just pull it out once you remove your sprocket. I had to take mine out piece by piece until I could get the collar out. Then the rest of it came right out. I think it is like a $6-$8 part and saves a lot of mess. If the collar is groved then get a new one of those...I think it is like $12.
