cdi fitment? 88

does anyone know what years are compatible with the 87-88 c.d.i. boxes? are they the same or do they change from 88 to the 90's? Thanks in advance, I am really butthurt cause mine died today

You sure its the CDI? If yours is broke it'll be the frist bad one Ive come across.

welll heres how it went down, started it idled for 30 seconds i gave it some gas and died... checked for spark and nothing. checked kill switch, elect. connections were tight and other wires were all tight, still nada not even a tiny spark. i will tear it all down tomorrow to take readings on the coil and stator.... i assumed cdi since this same thing happened to my blaster. unfortunatly i have no one near me to swap cdi's with to check that so i guess ill have to be out a freakin hundered bucks i dont have

ok so it turns out i wasnt the sharpest "TOOL" in the shed today....
it was the damn spark plug, i noticed it would spark if i held away from cyl. but not when grounded against it. swapped a new plug in and bam half kick, it fired right up!!!! thanks brit for helping me look in other places... new plug 4 bucks i almost bought a used cdi for 50 bucks and didnt need it.. my "genious" clouded the obvious
