Gen 3 125AF Pipe Clearance Advice
Gen 3 125AF Pipe Clearance Advice
Hey Guys,
I need your advice regarding a pipe for a gen 3 125 conversion.
I want to get another one, and I don't have the skills to mod one to stop the front tire rubbing. I have tried to contact service honda and buy one off them but they have ignored me.
Is there any after market pipe eg FMF or PC which can bolt on with out clearance issues?
Would putting a 20" front tire on it allow a standard stock, FMF or PC to fit?
thanks

i know the 20" wheel wouldn't help at all. you have a smaller wheel but a bigger tire. the overall diameter is suppose to be the same with the 20 incher.
i also don't think you can get a pipe to bolt on and not have clearance issues. you may wanna pm teamtrubble, he built a 125 based AF.

the best bet would be to have the pipe modified. or maybe just use a rubber mallet and a torch to get it hot, then hammer the inlet higher on the pipe and further to the front of the bike, putting the lower pipe closer to the frame and lower. I got an FMF from MFDB that he crashed with and hin the head pipe in front of the ign cover and mashed everything up. I did what I jusr described and accidentally went a little too far, but in doing so it made the pipe even fit me gen-1 250 frame better.

If you take the same brand and model tire and mount the 20 on a 20 x 1.85 rim and the 21 on a 21 x 1.60 rim and put them side by side the 20 is a half inch smaller...I know it's not supposed to be but it is. I also run 24mm offset clamps.
