uni filter... bad idea?

Post by dahondaboy »

my airbox boot had a rip in it. So until I get a new one I put a clamp on uni pod on it...Now it has killer power on bottom till mid and no top end power at all. Just hesitates and sputters . should I jet it a couple sizes bigger on the main? or just not ride till i find an airbox? and yes I am using a pre filter.

That shouldn't change anything. How long has the boot been cracked?

It has a new top end and thouroughly been cleaned since rip was noticed that was my winter project. But I wanted to ride so I put on the pod filter and richened the needle by one . It was in the middle I moved it down one. I putted it around doing the usual break in but never really noticed cause I never full throttled it till today. When it was good and warmed up, I took it to a long straight to run it a few times to read the plug. thats when I found out it ran boggy past mid to full throttle. I couldnt get a good run so I cant read the plug yet.

I have a few 88 parts for sale as well...I havent listed my 88 airbox though...it is dirty and the filter needs cleaned but id just give it to ya for shipping...10-15 bucks.

I also have the shock which is in excellent condition (might need the bearing), complete swingarm assembly and linkage.

I just realized you're in Utah...im gonna be driving through there next week if you're interested in anything.
Say hallo to my little friend, Mr. CR 500.
