That's a good deal. The stabilizer is worth a few hundred by itself.

'01 was a great year for the cr250, the motor is super desireable, so it will be easy to sell for most of what you paid for the bike and the suspension is awesome with a re-valve. the conversion is easier than a gen-3 or 4 as well, no tank modding, no airbox hacking and a high Y that can be grinded to clear. Great bike for a conversion.

Thanks for the words, Danny. I was unaware the '01 is such a good candidate. I'm about to start my '01.

just order a '00 airboot and you will be good to go. I will be helping my cousin (hoofarted) do his gen-2. we are going to try to use all of our gen-1 kit parts minus the head stay, grind, then reenforce the Y and be done
His '01 he bought new and had it revalved and babbied, so its the perfect candidate, then he plans to put his '01 250 motor in the gen-1 roller he got as a back-up/loaner bike :D

Sounds good. I thought you said you were unsure about the '00 boot. The guys in the other thread measured lengths and they were almost the same. What do you think?
